Ancient Ruins of Southern Africa

More than one million circular stone structures. Half a million square kilometres of agricultural terraces. A vanished civilization hiding in plain sight, at the southern tip of Africa.

Giving Thanks.

I t is with deep gratitude that I thank Johan Heine, who introduced me to the stone circle ruins in March 2007, by showing me hundreds of aerial photographs that he had taken over more than a decade. That divinely guided meeting in Pretoria led to some of the most unexpected and profound discoveries about the ancient vanished civilizations in South Africa.

The Stone Circles.

The stone circles of Southern Africa have mesmerised explorers since 1488, when Portuguese explorers like Bartolomeu Dias, and later Vasco da Gama in 1497, sailed around the Cape of Good Hope on their way to India and began to explore routes to the African interior — and the fabled Monomotapa Kingdom, where there was gold.

Counting the ruins.

The estimates have steadily grown, decade by decade, as the technology to count them has improved.

Aerial photography + Google Earth. Even if we are 90% wrong, there’s still a million ruins.

It was at that moment, when I realised that I had accidentally stumbled upon an ancient vanished civilization in southern Africa — and nobody was paying any attention to it.

~ MICHAEL TELLINGER

T he stone circle ruins cover a vast band of Southern Africa, approximately 500km wide. Heading north, they begin in KwaZulu-Natal and rise through the Orange Free State, North-West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. They cross the Limpopo river into Zimbabwe, parts of Mozambique, and western Botswana. They continue across the Zambezi into Zambia.

If you zoom out, the same ruins are found on every continent, often in the most unassuming places. You may have visited one without realising. They are usually labelled as ancient dwellings, grave sites, or places of worship — but that is not why they were originally built.

Channels & Agricultural Terraces

The stone circles are not stand-alone structures. They are connected to each other by stone wall channels that resemble pathways from the air — creating vast clusters of ruins across large areas of southern Africa. This is a major clue: these were not dwellings.

Since the 1970s, it has been widely reported that there are around 450,000 square kilometres of agricultural terraces in southern Africa — levelled, step-like platforms constructed on steep slopes. They often appear like a giant spider’s web, holding all the stone circles and the channels that connect them together.

The amount of food that could be grown on these terraces would arguably be enough to feed the entire global population in 2026. The question we must ask: who would they have needed to grow so much food for, 100,000 years ago — or further back?

Surveying the Ruins — and a Critical Detail Everyone Missed

In 1939, Bloemfontein University and Museum conducted a detailed survey of the Blaauwbosch Kraal ruins, near Waterval Boven. The full survey is available on the RESEARCH page.

One of the most important conclusions: the original structures had no doors or entrances. This can be clearly seen in the many drawings from this survey — and yet our historians and archaeologists have simply ignored this important detail. From this single observation, we should deduce that these structures were neither dwellings for people, nor shelters for animals.

Measuring the Sound Frequencies in the Walls

By late 2010, an accidental visit by an expert in measuring and detecting frequencies, magnetic and electromagnetic fields, led to an unimaginable discovery. The stone circle walls emit powerful sound frequencies, magnetic and electromagnetic frequencies. The circles also affect the underground heat signature up to 200m deep.

In the months that followed, many stone circles were measured — and Adam’s Calendar. All delivered similar results. Some were stronger than others. Adam’s Calendar measured much stronger than the rest.

The Cymatic Shape of the Circles

Every stone circle is completely unique in shape, size, and complexity. For anyone familiar with cymatics — how sound and vibration create unique shapes, like those that emerge when sand on a metal plate is vibrated by a speaker — it becomes clear that the ruins are representations of cymatic patterns, created by the specific frequency emerging from the Earth at that point.

Based on the diameter of each stone circle, we can calculate the primary frequency and wavelength. This leads to a simple, obvious conclusion: the stone circles amplify the natural frequencies of the Earth, generating an ongoing, never-ending source of energy. Free energy.

Magnetron-Shaped Structures

Many ruins have distinct flower shapes that accurately resemble the shape of a magnetron — the device used in microwaves and other modern technology. It is a clear indicator that these are not simple structures, but advanced energy-generating systems. The identification of magnetron-shaped circles suggests they may have acted as energy boosters into the vast, connected grid.

Healing Properties of the Stone Circles

By the end of 2008, I had received many testimonials from visitors I had taken to the stone circles, claiming all sorts of healing benefits — headaches, migraines, back pain, low blood pressure, knee problems, diabetes symptoms, ear problems, and more. By 2016, I learned that one of my guests had been cured of full-blown terminal cancer after joining me on two consecutive Sacred Sites tours.

It became clear that the vibrational energies created by the stone circles are beneficial to our health. Think of each circle as a giant Rife machine, or one of Georges Lakhovsky’s Multiple Wave Oscillators — both of which use frequency for healing. The frequencies coming out of the walls are harmonic fractals of the natural Earth frequencies that we, as humans, should be in resonance with.

How Old Are the Ruins?

There are many indicators that show us the ruins are potentially the oldest archaeological structures ever found. The complexity and vastness are unlike anything else on Earth.

The biggest indicator of their age comes from aerial photographs that show how rivers have washed away the walls, channels and terraces. Some channels run into the rivers — why would anyone build a channel into a river and out the other side? The conclusion: the stone circle ruins are older than the rivers that have formed among them.

When the stone circles were built, there was no rain. Then the climate changed, rivers formed, and the new climate caused trees and vegetation to grow among the structures. My current estimate is that they are around 300,000 years old — in line with the estimated first appearance of modern humans.

What Were They For? And Who Built Them?

To answer this, we must first agree on the evidence we have:

  • There are up to 10 million stone circles
  • The construction is of unimaginable complexity
  • They generate measurable energy
  • The magnetron-shaped structures indicate advanced knowledge
  • They were built before there was rain in this part of the world
  • They were built when the climate was very different

Once we digest these facts, the translations of the Sumerian clay tablets and other ancient texts begin to make much more sense — they are often misunderstood, mainly because we project our own modern reality onto them.

Is it possible that the Anunnaki, and possibly other advanced beings, were preparing Earth for their arrival? Is it possible that the stone circle complex is a gigantic terraforming machine — built to create a hospitable climate on Earth, to mine gold, and to survive a long time ago?

The Stone Circle Ruins are helping us uncover the hidden history of the Earth — and our critical place on it.
